Kila Painting!

I made a friggin OIL painting of Kila for my media experimentation class lol. I think I turned out pretty well for being so new to oils or even traditional painting in general! What do you guys think? I've gotta turn this in for class for a grade so what do you think I should work on with this?

*This is Kila from the planet Krdovia.
Krdovia is a planet made almost entirely out of glass. Beneath its surface is a labyrinth of tunnels that can get an explorer who is unfamiliar with the tunnels hopelessly lost (imagine the largest mirror maze ever). There is no water on Krdovia. Instead, the planet thrives on liquid mercury. There are vast oceans of the stuff, the planet being mostly covered in the stuff save for some large islands with their glass pebble beaches. The Krdovian population is divided into 26 tribes which are led by the Elders. To the Krdovians, fertility is precious and those who produce the most amount of children are usually the ones who come to power as an Elder to run the tribe. Over all the tribes is the Chieftain. He is in charge of keeping peace between the tribes and acting as their main political figure when it comes to inter-galactic politics. Unlike the Elders, the number of offspring of the Chief plays a role in his rise to power, but is not the determining factor. Instead, he is elected by the 26 Elders into his role. Being relatively new to the space age, Krdovians don't often leave their planet and have no colonized planets or space stations. However, they are greatly involved with spacial economics, their main export being glass and mercury. Though the Krdovians do have access to advanced technology, they prefer to stick to traditional customs and ways of life including hand-made clothing, simple architecture (excluding their temples which are ornate and feature their best technology), and rudimentary transportation. They worship a goddess that lives in the ocean. She is believed to grant fertility, drive fish closer to shores where they can be caught for food, and grind the glass from the center of the planet into fine sand which she brings to their shores. The Krdovians also believe that they all are her children and that a part of her spirit resides in each of them, giving them the strength to change the world around them.

Kila is the daughter of Mikila (after whom Kila is named) and D'Tzabbar (the current chief of Krdovia). Kila is a sentimental, quiet, and extremely shy character. She is content to sit and listen but is never the one to speak. She and he closest friends enjoy going to the beach to find the perfect glass beads to string together into clothing or for decorating their homes. Young Kila has never been off her planet and has no desire to do so. She loves her culture and enjoys going to the temples to study the stories of the past. She is a very live-in-the-moment kind of girl and tends only to think of the now and rarely puts thought into the future (not that she is irresponsible, she just doesn't feel the need to stress over what is to come and prefers to enjoy what she already has).
